Artemis Animals Policies

Scheduling & Reservations

Scheduling is done on a first come, first serve basis. Our regularly scheduled daily walks take priority over last minute calls for same day service. We make every effort to accommodate all calls- your pet’s care is very important to us. But please be aware that same day requests may mean less flexibility in scheduling our visits with your pet(s).

Payment

Daily dog walking payment is due at the end of each week. Payment can be made by cash or check made out to cash, Artemis Animals, or Julie Sacco and should be left for your walker to pick up.

Vacation pet sitting payment in full should be left for us to pick up on our first visit to your home, unless prior arrangements have been made.

There will be a $35 returned check fee. Any unpaid balances are due within 10 days and will accrue a $25 late payment fee every 30 days.

Cancellations

In most cases, we do not charge for cancellations with sufficient notice. Please call to cancel as soon as possible to avoid us making an unnecessary trip to your home. It is our policy to make our regular scheduled visit unless we hear otherwise from you.

Confirmation Contact

Artemis Animals will contact you by phone or email shortly before you leave for your trip to confirm your travel dates and pet care instructions. In the event you do not receive a confirmation message from us, please be sure we speak directly with you before your departure. We always return all phone calls and emails.

All Creatures

While you are away, Artemis Animals is responsible for all pets living in your home. Even those pets requiring little attention will need fresh water/food and a daily check while you’re gone. In most cases we do not charge extra for additional pets. We ask that you please not request that we allow pets outside unattended. Our insurance requires that all pets outdoors be leashed or confined by a physical fence.

Medications

Medications will be administered as discussed at our initial consultation. If you have a very shy or timid cat requiring medicine, it may be necessary to provide specific arrangements for that pet. It may also be necessary for Artemis Animals to make 1 or more paid visits to your home while you are there to assure that your pet can be properly medicated. Although there is no additional charge for giving medications, we have found it necessary to charge two times ( 2X) the regular visit rate for any single visit during which we must administer fluids. For the pet’s comfort, administering fluids requires 2 people.

All medications must be left in a convenient location and clearly labeled with the pet’s name and dosing instructions.

Veterinary Care

Artemis Animals will make every attempt to contact you if we feel that your pet may need Veterinary care in your absence. We will also contact your Vet for instructions. Be aware that in the event of an emergency, your pet may be taken to the nearest Veterinary office. You will be required to sign a Veterinary Release form for these purposes.

Emergency/Inclement Weather Procedure

Our Emergency/Inclement Weather Plan will be explained during our initial consultation visit. We ask that during winter months you keep stairs and walkways to your home clear of ice & snow for the safety of our dog walkers. Please provide arrangements for snow removal from these areas in the event of a snowstorm while you are away.
