Artemis Animals
Frequently Asked Questions

  • What do we need to have ready for our initial consultation?

It would help to have ready a list of any medications your pet may require, contact information for you while you’re away, your Veterinarian’s contact information, and two copies of your house key. We will also ask for a trusted neighbor’s or nearby relative’s phone number to have in our records in the event of an emergency.

  • What occurs during each pet-sitting visit?

This will depend on the type of pet and each pet’s individual needs. Typically, pets will be fed, given fresh water, exercised and provided with lots of attention. Dogs will be walked and given appropriate exercise as discussed during our initial consultation. Litter boxes will be scooped at each visit. We will bring in mail daily, rotate lights, water plants and put out trash on collection day. We will gladly help with any other small tasks that you may request at our initial meeting.

  • Can we call to check that our pets are doing OK?

Absolutely! We worry, too, about our pets in our absence. So please don’t hesitate to call or email us to ask for an update while you’re away.

  • Can a friend or relative visit our pet while we’re away?

Your friend or relative is welcome to visit any time during your absence. We just ask that you let us know the name of anyone who is allowed entry to your home while you’re gone. And please let them know that Artemis Animals will be doing all of the feeding and medicating for your pets. Also leave a notepad for them to sign in so we know that they were there.

  • What will happen if our arrival home is delayed?

Someone will always be available to make additional visits to your home if for some reason you cannot get home at the designated time. Please call as soon as you know that your arrival home will be delayed.

  • What happens if there is an emergency with my pet?

If an emergency should occur, we will notify you immediately. Our staff are all Pet First Aid trained. In the event of a life-threatening emergency we will rush your pet to the nearest Veterinary facility.
